Jan's been using the studio much more than I, as she prepares for the release of her CD.

In the photograph you can see Jan's Minimoog, Ensoniq, Tape-echo, 8-track reel-to-reel and mixer. Right under the mixer is a rack-mount of all sorts of stuff. My favorite guitar effect is my ADA MP2 tube processor. It has real tubes in it, and allows me to plug the output right into a mixer. No more amplifiers and microphones!

Not in the photograph is most of my equipment. I have a Kurzweil K2000 keyboard. I also manage the K2000 mailing list, worked with Jan on Sweetwater Sound's definitive K2000 Web site, and used to run the K2000 FTP archives at ftp.uwp.edu. I'm also a Kurzweil software developer, and have, for a long time, had plans to write a program to make the K2000 programmable like a Modular Moog. That project is in limbo right now, as is my K2000 book project (until I find a willing publisher).

I also have a Mac Centris 650, and use Cubase for sequencing. I use Mark of the Unicorn's midi patch bay to make everything talk to everything else. I also use a cheesy but functional 8-track recording program on the PC called Software Audio Workshop. It works, but it is really hard to use, low on features, and has a general "hacked together" feel to it.
